Sustainability Statement

‘100% compostable.

The asymmetrical fan structure was made with Orchids roots and beeswax hemp string. As wax string is not as stiff as wire, the structure 'collapsed' without the usual support of a wire. With this, the transparency of the structure was lost.

To solve the problem, the leaves of Cycas Sago were removed from its petiole, and the stem was used to 'open up' the structure by tying a few points on the structure with wax string. The three stems were also used as the handle for the structure.

Again, without wire, the shape of the structure couldn't be manipulated easily as before. This was overcome with the use of a piece of wax string tying and pulling the two sides together to create an asymmetrical fan.

The bouquet was tied using the wax string.’
