Living Plant Design Challenge Results Page!
From April 24th to June 1st, we received over 60 entries from 27 Countries around the world for the Living Plant Design Challenge. Florists & flower lovers all over the world challenged themselves to think sustainably and create Designs using Living Plants! Integrating and designing with living plants and botanicals can be a sustainable solution and offering for florists today. Designing with the end of life cycle of our designs in mind and creating something that can not only survive, but thrive well beyond its initial gifting can be an impactful way to reduce the amount of waste we create! Today we excitedly announce both our TOP 3 and TOP 10 finalists, judged by FREESIA Challenge founding partners, Gregor Lersch & Hitomi Gilliam. Entries were judged on an extensive list of criteria, including Aesthetics, Material Use, Sustainable Practices, as well as their Sustainability Statement… a requirement of the challenge.
Our Gold Medal Winner, Lawrence Kwong of Australia, won a Speaking Opportunity at this fall’s virtual FREESIA Summit including a $1500 USD Speaker Fee. Lawrence will now have the honour and platform to speak alongside confirmed speakers such as Susan McLeary, Shane Connolly, Per Benjamin, Max Van de Sluis, Gregor Lersch, Hitomi Gilliam, our first FREESIA Challenge Winner Felicia Kang, & more. Each of our Top 3 finalists also received Full Registration to the 3-day FREESIA Summit as well (Approx. $199 Value).
Also, all of our Top 10 Finalists will receive a FREESIA Challenge Medal of Recognition..
We thank all entrants of the FREESIA Challenge for their commitment and willingness to design with sustainability in mind. We salute all of our TOP 10 FINALISTS’ designs in their excellent use of organic materials, advanced technical abilities and execution, and thought-provoking messages on sustainability.
