Sustainability Statement

‘Event design in Japan often requires flowers and designs that are strongly specified by the client, but at the same time, it is also possible to create original designs if a proposal is submitted and agreed upon.

In recent years, clients tend to favor and accept the keyword "organic" to enhance their image, so I considered such a situation and came up with a 100% organic design to be placed at event entrances and on other platforms.

First, I am focusing on the sustainable use of unsold flowers at flower workplaces and flowers that are discarded in large quantities after events, and how to make dyes and pigments from petals and leaves for use.

Dye can be made from flower petals, which can also be made from dead petals. If made into pigments, they can also be used to color candles, vessels, clay, crayons, and other items that cannot be colored with dyes. The wax-coated paper vessels that Gregor recently suggested could also be provided a variety of natural, gentle colors.

In addition, when making dyes and pigments, no chemicals are used; dyes are made from water and vinegar, and pigments are made from natural ingredients such as alum and slaked lime, making them safe.

This time I made dyes and pigments from leftover flowers, dead petals, and garden flowers such as gloriosa daisy, delphinium, hyacinth, muscari, indigo, and dandelion, and colored dried leaves and colored soy wax with the pigments to make soy candles.

Organic glue was also made, and colored dried leaves were attached to dry alliums, processing the monotonous alliums into something that adds to their presence in the event decor.

The foundation was made of bamboo and wood, the wood was drilled and jointed with a bamboo comb, the bamboo and wood were made by binding them with hemp twine, and incorporating created allium and Sell Ginger nuts to create a more unique 100% organic foundation.

When arranging fresh flowers, I use fennel tubes coated inside with soy wax, which are lightweight, easy to secure, and can be reused, although they can also be disposed of as flammable waste.

Fresh flowers are selected mainly from orchids and other plants that will last for the duration of the event, and are simply arranged in tubes so they can easily absorb water and be reinserted.

And then, the soy candles were also made with aroma oil, so they provide a fragrant welcome at the entrance of the venue and also create an exotic atmosphere when the candles are lit at night.

At this time, I made my own dyes and pigments, but there are limits to individual skills, as well as equipment and working time. If a system can be constructed to circulate in society, such as the reuse of plastic bottles, it could lead to new business opportunities for the flower industry.

Many plant colors have beneficial effects, such as sterilization and insect repellency, which are friendly to humans and the environment, and can contribute to the society of the future.’
